Craft Room reveal part 1

Say good by to Green! This craft room is getting a make over and I’m finally ready to let you have a little sneak peek! This has taken me SOOOOO much longer then I ever thought, I blame the holidays but here I am ready to share…. AND no!It’s not done yet but I am getting so excited that I need to share!

You all know my issues with picking paint colors! I SUCK! So it’s no surprise that I went back to Lowe’s 3 times to have them retint my paint! I settles on the darkest color and to be honest I couldn’t tell you what this color is called becasue it’s a combination of THREE! Lets just call it “Craft Room Blue!” After what felt like hours of sanding off the hand painted tuffted buttons and stripes I was ready to paint! And May I add I had to paint the ceiling, walls, floor boards and door! My blisters had blisters!

After a WHOLE lot of this…

I finally had the blue colored room I dreamed of! I used Valspar Signature paint from Lowe’s! Let’s just say the Lowe’s paint department knows me pretty well by now!

Next comes the HUGE task of assembling furniture from IKEA! 3 bookcases, 1 desk, and one dresser to go! And then the organizing! I LOVE this part!

Lowe’s is the perfect head quarters for organization! Baskets, shelving, orgnaization trays! They have it all!

I love Green, but I admit that color was a bit much!! I love the blue that you dread!! LOL I know you meant Dreamed of but in your excitement you typed dread and it was funny after you had to go to Lowe’s 2 more times to get just the right tint you so love. I look forward to your next reveal!! And keep DREAMING!!! Makes life all the more fun!

I have a very similar color for my craft room too! I haven’t painted it yet, but it’s on standby. BTW, I’m not sure what you use for your ribbon storage. I use to use those racks with dowel rods sold at Michaels. What a pain! You have to take off a bunch of spools to take off an empty one or you unroll one and several others might unrolls yards and yards too. Or one will spin around the dowel fine and others will be tight. Argh! I came up with this idea for storing the smaller (regular) sized spools with a picture ledge from Ikea. They sit up there sooo nicely and don’t fall off. You can reach here and there, grab a few to take to your project before deciding which to use. Maybe it’s my wishy-washy self who obsesses over which color ribbon to use. :-)

I think I’m going to use more of these ledges for my bottles of acrylic paint and also for all of that glitter I bought before Christmas.
I ended up using the little ribbon holder dowel thingys to hang some plastic cups from..(Ikea for 99 cents each). They hold my scissors, machine accessories, fabric pencils, seam rippers, and all of that stuff.
Looking forward to seeing what else you have! My room is in a constant state of being redone. I find ideas, go for it, then find better ones. lol

Oooh! Thanks for the ribbon ledges idea! I’ll have to see if I can figure out how many ribbons of that size I have. I have a lot of large spools too so may be they have larger shelves as well. See, this is why I love my readers! So inspiring and problem solving!

I’m anxious to see the whole thing cuz I hate to say it….I really liked the green……LOL. I think the only thing I would have changed was to paint all of the furniture and wood work white. However I will say what I can see looks much calmer…….sometimes we need that serenity to create :)
