This is not a joke…

For the last 6 weeks this has been what I’ve been staring at…

It’s been over 2 months since Big Fish Painting came and refinished our kitchen cabinets and you know what’s been keeping me from being able to do my big reveal post??? THE PAINT color for the walls!

That’s 17 different paint samples littering my wall! I think I hit the point of no return when I had more then 4 colors up there! Now It’s just a mess and so confusing! BUT I’m happy to report that weeks and weeks later and lots and LOTS of money spent on paint samples I have finally decided on a color. And the luck y winner is…

Copen Blue” an HGTV Home color by Sherwin Williams!

Which in real life looks nothing like that paint image! Now all I have to do it actually put it on the walls…that is after I sand down all the paint samples already on the wall!

And don’t even get me started on a Back splash! I think I reached my decision making limit for the year! That might need to wait a few years at this rate!!

Why is some cases are design decision so hard and other times a breeze? Ugg!

I think picking the right paint color is one of the trickiest decisions when it comes to decorating!!

Love the white cabinets! I noticed right away that you had them painted (i never saw the post about that) because I remember your to-do list post for this year.:) Anyhow………….decisions, i hate them. When we re-did our bathroom a few years back I was totally not prepared for every little decision I had to make. I finally just said to our contractor “whatever!”. lol Can’t wait to see the big reveal. And love the color you picked to. I’ve been itching to get some form of blue on my walls somewhere (other than our baby boys room). :)

I painted the last 2 days in our new house that is being built. We only had 2 days to get the rooms done that I wanted us to paint. I am not happy with the master bedroom at all…So now I don’t know what I am going to do! I totally get where you are coming from :)

sounds like me and my decision of what color to paint the outside of our house. I finally decided a couple weeks ago and now we have the front painted. 3 more sides of house to go. I think it is just hard because you know it is going to take a lot of work and if you end up not loving it you have to live with it until you or your hubby has enough energy/money to try again. Which in our case will be at least 5 yrs. But once it is done I am sure you will love it.

It looks like your are a step ahead of me with the kitchen! I have black granite counter tops with a similar blue on my walls! I however have not painted the cabinets yet… It was supposed to be on the beginning of the summer todo list but now I’m not sure. One day they will be white! Hi Becca! I had to laugh when I read your post. I went through a similar dilemma a while back and I even created an illustration about the frustration called “I Got the Too Many Blues to Choose Blues”: http://justbeenme.blogspot.com/2007/10/illustration-friday-blues.html What IS it about shades of blue?? I love your choice (at least I think so, since you said it doesn’t look like the sample :o) and your cabinets are gorgeous, so I’m sure it will all look great!! As to my blues dilemma – I ended up moving before I made a decision and the room remained beige LOL… Happy painting!!
    Blessings,
    Becky
