I was totally inspired by AZ girls Night Out clever Paper Bag Menu holder and came up with my own Paper Lunch Bag project! They are the perfect starter for this fun new Spring Bunting!
There is something about sewing through paper that I just love so this project was fun to create.
Gather paper lunch bags, scrap fabric, scrapbook paper, ric rack, ribbon, pom pom and any other trims and embellishments that you think will help jazz up this bunting.
Start by trimming off the bottom section of your lunch bag.
Cut bright vibrant fabric to fit your bags.
I zig zagged stitched each fabric section onto the bags twice.
After you sew each fabric section on you’ll want to lay out your Bunting in the order you want it to be for your lay out.
Next I used my Silhouette to cut out the word SPRING. I used distressing ink on the edges of each letter.
I used Tacky glue to glue the paper letters to each bag.
Next I added ribbon, ric rack and other fun trims on the corners and tops of each bag.
Sew on the new embellishment.
And lastly I added fun big and small pom poms!
Double Folded Bias Tape is my absolute FAVORITE thing to work with when I make Buntings and banners! It comes in endless colors and is super cheap and because it’s folded already it make sit easy to use when finishing off your project!
Lay your Bias Tape on the ground and find the middle! Start spacing out your bags and pinning them in place! When I first laid all my bags out something was missing! I grabbed some tickets from my craft room and Ii just loved the way it looked when I added them!
One last bit of stitching and it was ready to hang!
I’m hooked on paper bags and am convinced they will make many more appearance here on Blue Cricket! Have you ever worked with Paper Bags?
And one more thing….
