Eat Pie!

It’s rare that I rip a page out of a magazine in hopes of using its recipe and ACTUALLY use it! But in this case the photos of this “Millie’s August Pie” was almost too hard to resist!

This recipe comes from Family Circle and was submitted by Connie Masullo of Bellefonte, PA.


* 1/2 of 1 package (15 ounces) refrigerated rolled pie crusts
* 2 cups sliced peaches
* 2 cups raspberries
* 1 cup half-and-half
* 1 egg
* 2/3 cup sugar
* 1/4 cup flour
* 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
* 1/4 teaspoon salt


1. Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Fit pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish. Place fruit in piecrust and spread evenly.

2. In a small bowl, combine half-and-half, egg, sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt; stir until well blended. Pour over fruit.

3. Place pie in oven and bake at 400 degrees F for 50 minutes or until center is set. Cool completely on wire rack before serving.

And this is what your pie will look at once you slice into it! YES! That was completely all my doing! Half a pie gone in less then an hour! Oops!

    I thought the blueberries were part of teh original recipe..Hummm! Anyway, a small carton will be enough for two pies! Almost a cup for each one!
