Hi everyone, I am Sachiko, I am so excited to visit you all here at Blue Cricket Design! It is so sweet of Becca to give me this opportunity, Thank you! I also have a blog called Tea Rose Home, where I share my crafts, sewing, quilting, repurposing, tutorials, makeovers, and some of my thoughts.
I LOVE designing and creating things. Being a mom of three doesn’t give me a whole lot of time to do so, but whenever I find time I enjoy it tremendously. It is very rewarding and fun to see the ideas in my mind became a reality. There are a few past posts that come to mind that I think you might like… Chair Makeover or cabinet repurposing. If you are into sewing you might be interested in Ruffled shirt tutorial and such…
Today I am sharing my newest creation using some stretchy lace.
It is a very easy and inexpensive project. I found the lace at Joann’s, it was $7.99/yd. I used about 6″ for mine, that is less then $1.40 + whatever the cost of the beads etc. The bracelet will be perfect for the up coming season!
Stretchy Lace
Beads, pearls
Small Silk Flowers(you can buy silk flowers on the stem and take them off)
Thread that matches the lace
{How to}
1. Put the lace around your wrist to see how long it should be.
2. Cut and sew the edges. I used a setting on my regular sewing machine that made the stitches look like they were done by a serger, so the edges won’t fray.
Front…
3. Hand sew the silk flowers and pearls together two to three times to secure it. Tie the knot and cut the thread. I sewed each bead and pearl separately (the thread is not connected inbetween) so that when the elastic stretches, you don’t have to worry about breaking the thread.
4. I sewed four flowers, and four big pearls, alternating between each. You can always add more if you would like.
5. Time to enjoy! I used the same bead and stretchy cord to make a matching bracelet. I feel like Spring is near.
I got carried away and made two more, one with brown lace and the other with black lace.
With those two, I didn’t do flowers. I love how they turned out. What I love about these bracelets is first, it is so easy to wear and remove. Second, it fits my wrists nicely and doesn’t slide up and down. It doesn’t get in the way when I am doing things around the house.
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial. It was so nice to meet you all!
