Birthday Cakes

I’m in total Birthday Mode!!! I’ve been crankin’ out decorations and trying to get everything squared away for the huge Birthday Bash we have planned for this weekend for BOTH my girls! It’s crunch time people!!! Fabric bunting 1/4 mile long! Tissue Paper Balls! Carnival signs! I can’t wait till this weekend is over!

This will be the first year I don’t do a “special” cake for a party! I’ll be making The Perfect Vanilla Cupcakes for the party and a “special” cake on their actual birthdays just for us to enjoy!

I had to laugh at some of their previous cakes I’ve tried my hand at…

The first one was my attempt at a frog! My Father in law said it looked like Oscar the grouch! OUCH!

Don’t laugh at my castle!!! Cricket loved it and that’s all that mattered!

I’m at a loss for what sort of cake to make this year! I need two totally wonderful ideas. Tell me what to do! Send me links, pictures , ideas!!! I need your help!

My oldest daughter’s birthday is next Friday so send them fast!!! I’m up for anything!!

They're cute! I'm actually planning a birthday party this weekend as well. It's at a place called Lunar Mini Golf… its putt-putt played in the dark with black lights. So I'm going to make a moon with an alien or spaceman playing golf. Last year I made a slimy cake for a "Totally Gross" party, and a hula girl for my DD in april. I've got pics if you'd like to see!

What is the theme of the party? A carnival?

Cute, cute cakes!! I'm in the process of planning my daughter's 2nd b-day party…it's not until December though, but when you don't have much $ to work with you have to pick up a little here and a little there along the way. ;)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and for your sweet, sweet comment!

    Smiles,

I did an Ariel Cake one year, it looks so hard but is really EASY.

You do need an Ariel doll for it.
I made it the year the movie was re-released so it worked great for me!

To make the sand you crush up vanilla wafers, and you use green fruit roll ups for the tail. i also added colored peppridge farm gold fish to swim around her.

    good luck whatever you do.

I wish I could help. But I usually talk my friends into helping me out with birthday cakes (even though I've taken a cake decorating class!). Last year I bought the Wall-E cake pan and iced it the way they told me to. I must not be very creative! Check out the Wilton site for some ideas. How old is your oldest daughter?

Oh, and I like the ladybug!

I made a super girlie, colorful, yum cake for my 4 year old this year. The kids loved it – especially the surprise inside!
