wish that the price would be slashed with a red marker and
hugely reduced, reality hit me straight upside my head when
stared back at me!
No surprise!!! It was Anthropology!!!
Of course the first thing that popped into my head was a little saying I often hear…yes I hear voices in my head….
“I can make that!!!”
Funny how I walk around the world calculating the steps, material and cost saving
advantages of making things myself!
Here’s my version of the “Oh so Lovely” Anthro must have…
First things first! Go get yourself some Chiffon!Chiffon comes in every color and is super cheap especially when you need so little. I buy 1/4 of a yard and have enough
to make three necklaces.
You will also need 1 1/4 yard of coordinating or matching ribbon, matching thread,
beads for the center and felt.
Add the final three petals placing them on top of the open spacing.
Now you have all your petals in place!
(Once you have your flower complete feel free to shape the flower by cutting and trimming the petals to make it perfect!)
Start by gluing the largest flower onto the very center of the ribbon. Continue gluing on the remaining flowers and be aware of the spacing and size of each flower you are gluing on. Be sure to burn the ends of your ribbon with a match to keep it from fraying.
A beautiful necklace! This project is easy peesy but does take time!! I can get one done in about an hour if I don’t have kids at my feet!
Chiffon is a fabric that will fray over time and unlike ribbon, you can’t burn it’s edges to keep it from fraying! Even the Anthropology Necklace frays so just be aware that it’s not fray prof! If any of you can come up with a magical solution for this let me know!!!
I posted two projects today so be sure to scroll down and see my much requested “Furniture refinishing” post!
